Sequim - Bremerton - Tacoma (18)

We spent the night in Sequim, Washington. This morning we left the motel with the goal of getting the Camry serviced and washed.

We drove into Bremerton, Washington , and quickly located a brand new Toyota dealership. The people at Heartland Toyota could not have been more friendly or helpful. In no time at all we had our car serviced, tires rotated, and they even offered a free car wash for good measure. Trust me when I tell you the car needed a good bath!

Oddly, I have seen many casino's in Washington on this trip that I never noticed on previous trips. The 7 Cedar's Casino above is operated by the Jamestown S'Klallam Tribe. Since neither Carolyn nor I have an interest in gambling, they will need other tourists to fill their coffers.

The Olympic Peninsula is one of the major centers for growing lavender. Large lavender fields can easily be found.

We crossed the relatively new toll bridge at The Tacoma Narrows. You might remember the story of the Galloping Gertie Bridge.

After locating a room in Federal Way, Washington, we had lunch at Salty's at Redondo Beach. Ted Randles and I had lunch with his family here on our return leg from Alaska. Just as I remembered, the seafood was excellent!

We washed clothes this afternoon, completing our goals for the day.

For the first time on this trip we had overcast skies and a slight drizzle early in the day. The sun finally made it out of the clouds late in the afternoon. I guess that is appropriate for Seattle. Tomorrows weather begins the predicted warm up.

Tonight ,we plan to drive into downtown Seattle to see the lights.

  1. Your pictures of Victoria,BC were much like ours when we were there about a month ago on our cruise. You will enjoy Seattle. We spent a day there before the cruise.
